This product being handmade, the imperfections in the surface are very much part of the character and charm of this object. The size or the colour might slightly change from a product to another.
For this limited edition, the designer has invented the meeting between one of his creatures and the weasel from A Bellula. This whimsical scene has been painstakingly hand embroidered, during several hours, by expert artisans in a New Delhi workshop. This soft, featherweight, crease-free and immediately warm stole will not leave you anymore. She is actually woven from the finest cashmere quality, the pashmina, which is one of Laïte Works’ favorite fibre.
The pashmina down is the main income of the nomadic Chang-Pa shepherds who carry on the traditional lifestyle following the seasonal transhumances on the highest plateaus of Tibet. The fibers are then washed and separated, then transported to Srinagar in Cashmere, the only region in the world to master the delicate art of its weaving. Traditional and still hand-crafted, this eco-friendly and fair trade cashmere production, only accounts for 0,5%o of the global production, against 90% for the “Mongolian” cashmere, 80% coming from China. The obtained thread is then hand-loomed on traditional wooden machines according to ancestral techniques. One of the most favorite patterns enabling the finest scarves is the bird’s eye one which this stole has.
